  4. Intresting lesson Tomasz. Pawtowski seem to have been an amazing fencer, but also a really interesting person. Maybe I shall write someting about him some day.

Till debatten: Är det svårare att vinna VM/OS/EM idag än förr?

Dagens fäktare tränar och tävlar efter dagens förutsättningar, gårdagens efter gårdagens.

  5. amaizing is when you read about "kings" of fencing.. and you have oportunity to meet them.. I have lucky that I have meet: Pawlowski, Magnan, Prof Tyshler, D'oriola, prof Czajkowski...

for me actuall fencing is totally different than fencing of 70-80'
totaly different than fencing of 50-60 - that we can watch only on old photos...

totally different was a system of competitions, practices etc.

today sport is a big machine, including support from equipment, medicine, biomechanics etc.

many of great fencers have big problems when electrical aparats shows up,
later many fencers didnt continue their great results because of "flicks"... now we have also situation that nice classical fencing is just a nice memory or little base to do something more.. you need to be a physical machine, with atomic legs, soft and sure hand...

Did Franke or Magnan can win with Cerioni or Golubitsky?
Did Golubitksy or Dong can win with Baldini or Joppich?

we cannot answer, we cannot compare...

today to becam a champion you need to be a 120% proffesional... and fencing need to be 100% of your life..
in 70-80-90 proffesional fencing was on little different "level"
no worst, no better, juz different.
